Magnesium supplements: I have questions around magnesium being used by biofilms, and how pathogens hide under a "candy-coated shell" to avoid the immune system. What are your thoughts?
You’ll need to find your way on this as I'll present several insights, and practicality must rule. Yes, pathogens use Mg to build biofilms, but you can't eliminate Mg from your diet, and we are a human race of Mg deficiencies. The ionic "quick absorption" does have merit, as it can be absorbed in the upper GI and thus not go to the bowel (hence why we suggest Mg oil instead to bypass the GI tract) to provide abundant biofilm building. Another consideration is that, during this program, "the race between destroying biofilm and building biofilm" is won by the weakening of biofilms.
It employs 3 methods to address biofilm:
1) Chelators of heavy metals often incorporated into pathogenic biofilms
2) Hydrolytic enzymes and diatomaceous earth that attack biofilm shells and have the ability to stick to the intestines
3) Botanicals that interfere with quorum-sensing (pathogens ability to communicate and proliferate) and thus inhibit pathogenic mutation-resistance.
So, while it makes sense to avoid excessive Mg, as in "rock Mg chelates", if you cannot find a non-Mg laxative support, the cited Natural Vitality Natural Calm would be preferable to not doing the program or to being constipated. The Mg issue is a "micromanage" nuance and something to consider. So it’s fine to seek other motion movers as preferable.
