I am Plan S and 1 week into HCL challenge and adding fermented foods/fiber. I have a rumbly stomach and foul smelling gas that starts mid- late afternoon and lasts all evening and still fighting constipation. Was I not ready to move on?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I thought it was related to adding kefir water to my smoothie, so I cut back on the amount I was using, but it still happens with a breakfast without ferments. I've added small amounts of fiber (1 T soaked chia, 1 T ground flaxseed, 1/2 cup quinoa). I stopped the MBC enemas when I began the HCL week. I was tolerating 3 in enema form without gas. I’m currently up to 6 HCL pepsin tablets and feeling very little to nothing. I have taken Neurosyn and Calm for 2 weeks; usually having small BM in morning, still fighting constipation. What does all this mean? Was I not ready to move on? Does this gas indicate poor purging results or inadequate reseeding? I think the fiber is actually what's helping my constipation. Not sure about the Neurosyn helping though.

A: Let's do less fermented foods and fiber until after you get past the HCL challenge in that case, then add them back slowly. You are still getting bacterial die off due to too much challenge of the fermented veggies to the bad guys so take it slowly and consider staying on one Oregano oil/day for 30-60 days. Please continue with the MBC enemas if you tolerated them ok - it's okay to do them concurrently with the HCL challenge. Continue the Neurosyn and Calm and the amount of fiber that works for you. It could just be the ferments are too soon for you.
