Gastro/Digestive/Intestinal
- I am Plan S and 1 week into HCL challenge and adding fermented foods/fiber. I have a rumbly stomach and foul smelling gas that starts mid- late afternoon and lasts all evening and still fighting constipation. Was I not ready to move on?
- I only decided to do GT5 because of a HCL issue and I am very concerned about thinning of my stomach lining. I have NEVER burped with the baking soda test and know your HCL challenge is a different method but I am a bit discouraged by it. Can you help?
- I started the HCL challenge, with one HCL/Pepsin pill at dinner. My stomach burned within 10 minutes. Burning got worse with dinner...to lava like feeling in my stomach and fever and acidic bowel movements that contain blood. What should I do?
- Can we drink the Matula Tea just to be sure to knock out H pylori just in case we may have it? Do you recommend any stool testing to be certain that we have it or not?
- My functional medicine doctor is very concerned about me consuming enzymes on an empty stomach because of my gastritis. She said they would tear my stomach up and make it worse. What do you think?

- How many Triphala can I take for constipation?
- Chronic Constipation: I’m concerned about getting things moving before I start the program and am certain I won’t be able to purge my pathogens. I’m willing to do some enemas and heard about castor oil packs. How can I be sure I’m ready for this cleanse?
- Gluten sensitivity: Can we use a program like this for desensitizing to food allergies and to desensitize to gluten? Maybe a grain or two of flour in water to start and very slowly work up?
- Can you take HCL if you have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)?
- My EGD showed highly ulcerated stomach. I ordered more Lions Mane and Mucosagen to increase slowly the amount of Probiotics for program. I had very little stomach pain before, so how do I know when the lining of the intestine is healed?
- I really want to get rid of my SIBO, but it feels like it is at the expense of my adrenals which are “in the toilet" right now. What to do?
- How can this program help with SIBO and IBS -- instead of doing the protocol that combines the Specific Carbohydrate Diet with a Low FODMAP diet?
- I am on plan S and am halfway through the reseeding phase. My biggest issue is chronic belching, which seems to come mainly from the stomach and diaphragm area. Should I just trust the process or do anything to help it along?
- I have had congested sinuses for years, which are especially bad at bedtime. Could this be candida and will this program get it out of the sinuses? I am on Plan P.
- Have you heard of Small Intestinal Yeast Overgrowth? I understand it is similar to SIBO, but is treated in a different way. I have had yeast issues for many years and wonder if this could be the culprit instead of bacteria.
- I've been getting intermittent sharp pain under my right rib cage & concerned, guessing it's liver/gall bladder. Would taking Zendocrine capsules help?
- I was diagnosed with GERD, gastritis and Barretts Esophagus 10 years ago. I've been on Aciphex for 10 years and scoped every year. Gastritis seems gone after I introduced a gluten free diet. The GERD and Barretts remain. What do I do for the next step?
- I have a partial rectal prolapse (maybe from internal hemorrhoid) and can't eat ANY fiber (almost nothing solid). I suspect SIBO, FODMAPS etc. I'm confused about which plan to follow because my food doesn't break down nor does it come out easily.
- I have done a lot of what Christa described in Steps 1,2 and 3 but still have trouble digesting proteins especially. Would you recommend raw apple cider vinegar to help with low digestive enzymes or should I purchase enzymes?
