I am not vegetarian, but I am really concerned about losing weight. How do we keep our weight up with less carbs?
People who are underweight and struggle to keep weight on, should not do the full fast. Instead, reduce carbs by 25% and use lots of bone broth for its nutrients and healing impact. Eat meals (protein, fats, and light vegetables), so you do not lose weight, and add a carb that stabilizes blood sugar but does not cause bloating for you. We don't want to further a catabolic metabolism.
You want to select specific carbs based upon which plan you fall into-- from butternut squash, acorn squash, green bananas, unmodified potato starch, sweet potatoes, etc. Also, by having the correct amount of protein and fat at the right time, you can make great strides at keeping blood sugar balanced.
