Small amounts of raw chocolate (unprocessed cacao, not processed cocoa) are allowed.Cacao is VERY high in magnesium, an essential nutrient that can get depleted with stress and cleansing.

Try some cacao nibs. They may not seem great at first, but we bet they'll grow on you. As your taste buds become accustomed to all the healthy foods you'll be consuming on the program, you'll likely gain a true appreciation for this simple and healthy little treat. Try the "slow method" of chewing, as described in Marc David's book The Slow Down Diet and you'll really start to notice the different "notes" of the cacao like a fine wine:-).

There is also a drink that can be found at many health food stores called Rau that is made with cacao, cocoa butter, and monk fruit sweetener, all of which are GT5 legal. NOTE: Only the original flavor is allowed though and please only have in moderation when you need to give into that chocolate craving. You can find it HERE.

Another alternative for those chocolate cravings is to make a cup of our healthy hot chocolate. Super good and totally Gut Thrive-legal. You can also find lots of recipes with raw cacao at thewholejourney.com/recipes. Add raw cacao to your smoothie to get your "fix."
